Document Delivery for SUNY New Paltz Distance Learners
Can't find it online? Have materials delivered to you!
If you're an online learner, or if you study at one of our many extension sites, you can order articles and other materials through our Interlibrary Loan Program. This includes materials from our in-library collection, as well as materials we don't own and borrow from other libraries on your behalf. It's easy: just fill out an online ILLiad request form.

Please read the following:
- This service is Free
- Distance students are strongly encouraged to use
our library's catalog to ascertain whether we own an item, or whether our library will need to order it.
- Delivery of in-library materials is available to SUNY New Paltz distance learners only. Commuters and other on-campus library users may use ILLiad to order materials from other libraries, but they may not request that we send them materials owned in-library.
- Currently, this service applies to journal, magazine, and newspaper articles. Book delivery is currently available only to students in our New Paltz@Sullivan Community College program.
- Many articles and chapters can be delivered electronically to a secure webspace, or to your email. In other cases, photocopies can be mailed to your home or office. Please specify on the Registration form which method you prefer. Please allow up to two weeks for delivery.
- You will need the library number found on your SUNY New Paltz student ID card (SUNYCARD) in order to use ILLIAD. Distance Learners may obtain a special ILLiad number by contacting the Distance Librarian at (845) 257-2699 or by
email [ref@newpaltz.edu]
New Paltz@Sullivan students who need a library number should inquire at the Sullivan Community College library--read below.
NOTE: You must identify yourself as a Distance Learner on the ILLiad registration form, and on the doucument request form. Otherwise, your request might not be processed. To do so:
1. When you first fill out an ILLiad Registration Form, select "Distance Ed." from the pull-down "Status" menu.
2. When you fill out a book or journal request form, type "I am a distance learner" in the Notes field, and tell us what online or extension class you are attending.
New Paltz@Sulivan Community College students! The libraries at New Paltz and Sullivan have unique partnership. Not only can SUNY New Paltz students receive database instruction and research advice from Sullivan librarians, but they can request materials from New Paltz and have them sent to SCCC!

Here's What to do:
- Go to the Sullivan Community College library during its open hours. Identify yourself as a New Paltz@Sullivan student. Have a picture ID and a paid New Paltz invoice handy.
- Fill out a patron identification form, and hand it back to the librarian. It will be sent to the library at New Paltz, so we can enter the information into our databases. This helps to identify you as one of our students.
Save Time! Download a form now and return to SCCC library
- You'll receive a special ID card with a barcode number on it. Use it when you fill out an ILLiad request form.
