Downloading EndNote

EndNote for Windows is available for download from the Content Collection on Blackboard. If you have a username and password on Blackboard you can download EndNote. EndNote for Mac OS X is available from this same location.

  1. Login to http://blackboard.newpaltz.edu with your NPCUID and password
  2. Click on the Content Collection tab at the top
  3. Click Institution Content heading link
  4. Then click on the folder under that called Software BUT don't click on the EndNote folder
  5. Instead look to the right side and click only the check box in front of the EndNote Folder to select it.
  6. Above the folder on the right side select Download Items or Package and click the GO button

  7. The whole folder is downloaded as a file, Software.zip. Double Click Software.zip on your PC to extract the folder from the zip file.
  8. When extracted it creates a folder called Software, open the folder to find the file, Setup.exe
  9. Double click on Setup.exe and proceed normally (Accept the license agreement, do a complete Install.)

To set the New Paltz openURL resolver when installing EndNote X:

  1. Check the box "Enable Open URL"
  2. Go to "Edit" - "Preferences" - "OpenURL/PDF"
  3. In "OpenURL Path" box enter "http://ZR5QX8JP2F.search.serialssolutions.com"
  4. Accept values in the "Arguments" box
  5. Click "Apply" and "OK" buttons
