Reference librarians staff the Information Desk during the following scheduled hours when classes are in session:

Information/Reference services include:
- Providing answers to in-person, telephone, and email reference questions.
- Assistance in finding information for in-depth research questions.
- Providing instruction for print and electronic resources, including library catalog (the STL On-Line Catalog), online databases, and Internet resources.
- Providing individual term paper and research consultations. In cases where your research project is more complex, you can arrange to sit down with a Reference Librarian on an individual basis, who can set aside time to help you in your research strategy, and in locating the library resources best suited to your particular topic.
- Providing course-related library instruction sessions. Library instruction sessions that focus on course-related library materials and resources are scheduled by professors. If you think a course you are taking would benefit from a library instruction session, suggest it to your professor. Library instruction sessions can be arranged by calling the Coordinator of Instructional Services Office at ext. 3705.
